Polini 360° reed valve intake manifold for Vespa PX and T5
New 360° reed valve intake manifold from Polini. Suitable for all engine case variants of large frame engines such as the Vespa Sprint, Rally, PX, Cosa.
As with all conversions to a diaphragm-controlled intake, the original rotary valve control via the crank web is no longer required.
Such a conversion can be useful for several reasons:
- The original rotary valve intake is damaged
and/or
- The desired engine output should be well above 25 hp
The engine housing can and should therefore be milled open (for an optimum increase in performance) in order to bypass the former control system via the crank webs.
A crankshaft for diaphragm intake is recommended as an option for a further increase in engine performance.

- Rubberized, self-sealing diaphragm body with 0.3 mm carbon plates
- Cover for the oil pump hole
- Suitable for engine housings with short or long sealing surface
Attention: For installation, it is necessary to screw two threaded bushes (enclosed) into the holes of the carburetor fastening screws of the engine housing. The connecting piece itself is fastened to the engine housing with two M5 hexagon socket screws.
NOTE: To ensure that the connecting piece also fits on engines with a so-called small sealing surface (T5 and PX80-150 with a sealing surface of less than 60 millimetres, measured between the holes for the carburettor fastening screws), it has a shoulder on the inside of the connecting piece to increase the sealing surface. On housings with a long sealing surface, this can of course be removed and the connecting piece milled out accordingly.
