The black plastic underlay for the front left outer floorboard trim is a genuine Royal Alloy spare part for the GP, JPS and TG model ranges. It forms part of the multi-piece floorboard trim assembly and is designed for the lower position of the front left outer trim strip.
The underlay can be replaced individually if damaged or missing. This allows the original arrangement of the floorboard trim components to be restored without replacing the entire trim assembly.
The component has a narrow, elongated shape with an almost straight profile. A continuous raised longitudinal edge forms an angled profile together with the flat base section. This construction is adapted to the installation position of the front outer floorboard trim.
Two U-shaped recesses with rounded transitions are located along the opposite longitudinal edge. The end sections have different shapes. These features must be taken into account when aligning the component during installation.
The underlay is made of black plastic and is designed as a separate component within the floorboard trim assembly. It should not be confused with the corresponding rubber floorboard strips or upper decorative trim strips, which are listed separately in the spare parts catalogue.
To replace the component, the front left outer floorboard trim area must be accessible. After removing the relevant trim components, the contact surfaces and mounting points should be checked for dirt or damage.
During installation, attention must be paid to the correct orientation of the raised longitudinal edge and the two recesses. The plastic underlay should be fitted according to its intended shape without twisting it or placing it under tension.
Royal Alloy uses different components for the front and rear floorboard trim positions as well as the inner and outer sections. The left and right versions are also assigned separately. The original part number is therefore essential when selecting the correct replacement part.
The genuine plastic underlay allows the lower component of the front left outer floorboard trim assembly to be replaced individually. Its vehicle-specific shape enables the intended arrangement of the components to be restored.
