This compact and extremely lightweight rear shock absorber of superlatives is a product of the cooperation between the designers at Malossi and the Paioli company. It is made entirely of duralumin except for the piston rod and spring.

The shock absorber functions via oil-gas damping with variable adjustability and rebound/compression control.

A pressurized nitrogen chamber forms the expansion tank.

This project was prepared and researched for a long time by the technical experts from both companies. Both companies have combined their experience to develop an innovative suspension system.

Thanks to three new adjustment systems, this suspension is amazingly versatile, improving the suspension capabilities both on the road and in racing:

Rebound adjustment to compensate for uneven ground as well as possible;
double adjustability of the hydraulics in the compression stage (separately for low and high speeds);
spring preload allows adjustment to the rider's weight;

Technical details

A look at the technical details of these special shock absorbers proves that they are currently among the best products on the market.

- Type: oil-pneumatic shock absorber with separate reservoir.
- Area of application: Competition
- piston rod Ø 14 mm made of 38 NiCrMo4UNI 7845 steel, hardened with 25-30 micron hard chrome layer (mm)
(surface hardness of untreated rod HRC 55/60)
- piston Ø 36 mm with two independent reed valves (one for compression, one for rebound)
- New reed valve system made of harmonic steel for extremely precise tuning
LUBRIFLON PTFEB 70 piston skid (compound enriched with bronze)
- Sliding process takes place via DU GUIDE bushing (this material is created by sintering a layer of spheroidal bronze on suitably
shaped low-carbon steel with subsequent impregnation and coating with a PT-FE + FB mixture)
- SEALTHANE 9345 scraper ring made of polyester resin
- Micrometric adjustment of the spring preload using ring nuts
- 24-way adjustability of the hydraulic rebound
- Double adjustability of the compression stage hydraulics, each with 10 positions separately for low and high speeds
- Special low-viscosity oil, not affected by temperature fluctuations
- External expansion tank allows expansion of the fluids inside the damper.
- If you have carefully read the technical details described above, it should have become clear
that these special shock absorbers are among the best currently available on the market for end customers.
- Length: rear 333 + 25 mm - front 181 mm
- Stroke: rear 62 mm - front 45 mm
