Additional housing support for Piaggio Maxi 2-stroke engines to reduce torsional stresses and significantly relieve the critical housing area.
The HEIKOTUNING Brace V2 is not an optical gimmick, but a very useful reinforcement part for the well-known Piaggio 125-180 cc 2-stroke engines. The large Gilera Runner 125 and 180 in particular are known for the fact that the engine housing can become problematic in the area of the long housing arm under high loads. What is often referred to succinctly as "casing breakage" is in practice a serious technical risk. This is exactly where the Brace V2 comes in: It blocks the engine significantly better, reduces torsion and helps to noticeably reduce the load at a critical point in the design.
Piaggio has further developed the engine housing of the large Runner engines on the basis of the older and very robust SKR/Hexagon platform. In order to accommodate larger tires, the housing was weakened in a structurally sensitive area. Critical stresses can occur there, particularly under hard acceleration, at higher power levels or with additional side loads. The Brace V2 additionally stabilizes this area and makes the entire engine block significantly less prone to torsion.
The brace is mounted on the exhaust mounting of the engine block and on the central screw connection of the rear wheel. As a result, the engine is significantly better blocked and stabilized as a unit.
The HEIKOTUNING Brace V2 is made of high-strength aluminium and is anodized in blue. This makes it not only stable and corrosion-resistant, but also visually clean. The construction is clearly designed for function, not just for show.
The Brace V2 is suitable for engines with drum brakes and disc brakes.
With the HT03602 adapter, it is also possible to fit the PM59 X.
The Brace V2 is particularly useful on powerful 125cc and 180cc setups where the well-known weak point issue of the engine housing is taken seriously. It fits very well with sporty street engines, more powerful cylinder sets and generally with engines that are no longer used purely as standard. If you want to build up a large Runner, Dragster or Hexagon to be permanently resilient, this is a very useful reinforcement part.

The HEIKOTUNING Brace V2 is a very useful reinforcement part for Piaggio 125-180 cc 2-stroke engines with a known critical housing area. It reduces torsional stresses, stabilizes the engine block and helps to significantly reduce the risk of case breakage. Especially with large runner and related engines, this is not a minor matter, but a technically serious upgrade.
