The de-throttling of the new Piaggio iGet Euro4 engines, as installed in Vespa Primavera, Vespa Sprint 50 or Piaggio Liberty and Zip Euro4 engines 2017-2019, is no longer possible without intervention in the engine control unit and is therefore difficult for a layman to implement. As a rule, an engine tester is required, which only the authorized dealer has available.
The BGM de-throttling kit has an open, unthrottled ECU / CDI ignition box, which does NOT need to be tuned with an engine tester on the vehicle. Simply plugging it in is sufficient. During subsequent operation, this is also recognized by the tester during a workshop visit and is not indicated as a fault. However, to prevent the engine from over-revving, the ignition curve is also locked with the Naraku ECU, significantly later than with the factory ECU, but at a safe 10,000.
Two anti-manipulation screws are fitted to the Vario cover on the scooter; these are replaced by the two Piaggio OEM screws supplied. A new open intake hose is also included in the kit, which increases the air flow. Variator rollers and clutch springs suitable for the new engine output are supplied in the kit and simply need to be fitted.
With a sports variator such as the Naraku NK901.27, maximum speed and acceleration can be further increased (tuning required).
Naraku offers a complete and easy to install kit for de-throttling the new Piaggio / Vespa iGet Euro4 engines. No tuning or engine tester necessary.
