POLINI Maxi Hi-Speed Variator – more dynamics for the CVT drivetrain
When the engine revs, the variator has to turn that power into forward motion – directly, smoothly and with exactly the kind of dynamics expected from a sport-tuned automatic scooter. The POLINI Maxi Hi-Speed 241.769 is designed precisely for this purpose. With optimized components, two different roller weight sets and the special POLINI lubrication system, this variator kit provides the technical basis for targeted CVT drivetrain tuning.
Whether Peugeot Django and Tweet, SYM GTS, Mio, Fiddle and Symphony, Scomadi TT125 or Royal Alloy GP 125: the Hi-Speed brings genuine POLINI Performance DNA to the variator. It is not simply about sporty riding – it is about the interaction between roller movement, reduced friction, lubrication and precise power transmission.
Hi-Speed – developed for dynamic power delivery
The geometry and machining of the variator are designed to allow the variator rollers to move as smoothly and consistently as possible. POLINI uses specially machined and polished roller tracks for this purpose. This supports smooth variation of the transmission ratio and contributes to dynamic power delivery during acceleration.
Particularly interesting for drivetrain tuning: the kit includes two sets of 19 x 17 mm variator rollers weighing 9 g and 11.5 g respectively. The different roller weights provide options for adapting the setup to the individual vehicle and engine configuration.
DLC technology and special lubrication system
At the heart of the Hi-Speed system is a nickel-chromium steel variator boss with DLC treatment. DLC stands for Diamond Like Carbon – a surface technology used by POLINI for highly stressed sliding components due to its low friction and high wear resistance.
Another technical highlight is the special POLINI lubrication system. Inside the variator is a grease reservoir with a small spring that continuously distributes lubricant to the variator boss. The supplied POLINI Special Grease is an integral part of this system. The concept is designed to provide reliable lubrication of the sliding components and support smooth, consistent operation of the variator.
More than just a variator
POLINI supplies the Hi-Speed as a comprehensive tuning kit. In addition to the variator itself, the concept includes the matching drive face, variator boss, roller weights, slide pieces, lubrication system components and a reinforced contra spring. This allows several important areas of the CVT drivetrain to be matched to the Hi-Speed variator as one coordinated package.
The result is a genuine Performance package for riders who do not simply want to replace their automatic transmission components, but want to tune the drivetrain with a sportier focus. From the first opening of the throttle through continued acceleration, the typical POLINI objective remains at the heart of the design: making effective use of the available engine power through the continuously variable transmission.
