The voltage regulator with the connection designation A-A is an exotic among the other Piaggio/Vespa voltage regulators. It was used for the special, groundless, charging coil technology of the German PX models from 1982-1984. It cannot be used in the later vehicles with G-G regulator connections. Furthermore, this voltage regulator can also only be replaced by modifying the alternator with a more modern type (such as BGM6690).

For this all alternator coils of the base plate have to be connected in series. The then only one wire output is then routed to the voltage regulator. However, it is easier to replace the complete ignition base plate with a more powerful one (e.g. from BGM Pro: 7673641) and to upgrade to the new regulator technology at the same time.
