PASSING
Fits all Vespa scooters with three identical locking cylinders from year of manufacture approx. 1984 (recognizable by the inscription On-Off-Lock on the combined ignition and steering lock). Example vehicles: PK XL, PX Lusso, Cosa, as well as many automatic models (see fits).
NOT FITTING
Exception are the Vespa PK XL2 models (recognizable by the choke lever on the handlebar). Here Vespa has used a special (long) lock cylinder for the combined ignition / steering luggage compartment lock.
TIP
This type of lock cylinder engages in the corresponding housing via a spring-loaded hook.
The lock housings have a corresponding through hole or slot. Old lock cylinders can be removed without drilling out if the lock cylinder is positioned so that its retaining hook is exactly above this bore. Then the hook can be unlocked with a small Allen key or bent wire and the cylinder can be pulled out. Normally this is only possible if the locking cylinder is not in the locked position. Therefore, if the key is lost, drilling is usually unavoidable.
