Safe guidance with BGM PRO engine cable rubber sets

The BGM PRO engine silent rubbers for the Vespa PX200 models are available in three versions: Soft, Medium and Hard:

  • Soft/Original SHA66: Almost identical to the original Piaggio silent rubbers installed at the factory at that time (the silent rubbers sold by Piaggio today are much harder than back then with 72SHA). Very comfortable, greatly reduces engine vibration. Our recommendation for the everyday rider.
    Color marking: 2 x red

  • Medium/Touring SHA66/82: Slightly firmer than the original Piaggio silent rubbers. Thus significantly better driving characteristics without the everyday quality suffers. The reinforced rubbers have asymmetric degrees of hardness. Therefore, despite tighter suspension, the ride comfort is maintained.
    Color coding: 1 x red, 1 x green

  • Hard/Sport SHA82: For racing or the hard-boiled tuning friend who does not mind vibrations, but who places high value on the proverbial driving on rails.
    Color marking: 2 x green

For a high level of active safety, we recommend that you regularly change the engine silicone rubbers. These guide the entire engine block in the vehicle frame and transmit all drive, braking and steering forces. Together with the rider's weight and, if applicable, the weight of a passenger, intact silent-rubbers are very positively noticeable in that they are simply not noticeable.

Worn silent rubbers can be recognized by a spongy ride, similar to a tire with insufficient air pressure. To check, move the engine at right angles to the direction of travel. To do this, hold the vehicle with your left hand, grasp the rear tire at the 3 o'clock position with your right hand and try to push it away from you and pull it back in again. The engine must only be able to move slightly in the frame. If the motor can be moved noticeably in the frame, you should plan to replace the silent rubber in the near future. Installation is simple and is ideal, for example, in the course of an engine overhaul when the engine has already been removed anyway.

With the bgm engine silent rubbers supplied in pairs, the chassis regains directional stability, steering precision and stiffness.

TIP: Together with the silent rubbers, the shock absorbers/struts should also be checked regularly. Here, too, it is better to replace them sooner rather than too late.

ASSEMBLY

The old rubbers can be removed quite easily from the housing (lever out). Then push the new BGM PRO rubbers back into the housing with a little talcum powder and, if necessary, use a non-rebound hammer to tighten them a little. Mount the silent rubbers dry, do not grease/oil them. Use talcum powder for easier assembly.

Please note: The silent rubbers in the Medium/Touring version (BGM7952) must be installed in the correct direction:

  • Left in direction of travel: Red color marking

  • In direction of travel right: Green color marking
