Clutch basket incl. hub and steel plates -STINGWORKS Sei Giorni GP- Vespa Wideframe 1953-1959 and early Largeframe
The STINGWORKS Sei Giorni GP is an ultra-compact sports clutch for Vespa Wideframe engines from the mid-fifties and suitable early Largeframe models. CNC-manufactured, with 6 friction linings in KTM format and designed for high torques, it combines modern clutch technology with the space available in classic Vespa engine housings.

Compact concept for narrow housings
The Sei Giorni GP was deliberately designed to be slim in diameter and height. The aim was to create a clutch that can be used in wideframe engines built between 1953 and 1959 without reworking the clutch cover. A spacer between the engine housing and cover can also be dispensed with in two-channel engines. This reduces the installation effort and eliminates the need for additional sealing surfaces.
Thanks to its compact design, the clutch can also be used in common large-frame engines. For some models, especially Vespa PX, the use of a bearing-mounted pressure plate from the PK XL2 range is recommended in order to compensate for the flatter overall height.
Structure and load capacity
CNC-machined clutch basket with matching hub and steel disk set, designed for high continuous loads.
6 friction linings in the KTM layout enable high transmittable torques without the need for extremely hard springs.
The diameter of the spring plate has been increased by around 1 millimeter to relieve the wedge seat and prevent cracking in the groove area.
Engine outputs of well over 30 hp can be achieved with this clutch if the overall setup is tuned accordingly.
Springs, pinion and tuning
On the sprocket side, the Sei Giorni GP relies on familiar technology: Cosa 2 clutch pinions are used, as they are also used on PX models from around 1998. This simplifies the gear ratio selection and allows the use of proven primary tuning.
The clutch springs are also from the Cosa 2 range (for example spring sets with the reference 7674732). A total of eight spring positions are available so that the number of springs can be variably adapted to the engine torque and the desired lever travel. When using other spring types, the block dimensions and clearance of the pads must be taken into account.
Use in wideframe and largeframe engines
Designed for wideframe engines VM, VN, VL, VB and the corresponding Motovespa 125 S variants (V72M, V58MS, V60MS), without removing the original clutch cover.
The compact clutch can also be installed in classic large-frame engines such as VNA, VBA, VNB, VGLA and VBB1T in order to use the latest clutch technology even in early housings.
Motovespa 125 N motors (V56M, V58M, V60M, V101M) benefit equally from the low overall height and the high load capacity of the design.

FAQ: STINGWORKS Sei Giorni GP clutch
Frequently asked questions
Does the Wideframe clutch cover have to be milled or turned?
No. The Sei Giorni GP is specifically designed to be so compact that it can be used in Wideframe engines from around 1953 without turning the clutch cover. No spacer is necessary even with two-channel housings.
Which sprockets can I use?
The clutch is designed for Cosa 2 sprockets, as can also be found on later PX models. This means that a large selection of primary ratios is available.
Which springs are used?
Cosa 2 springs are used, for example sets with the reference 7674732. Eight spring positions are available so that you can vary depending on the performance level and desired leverage. For other spring types, ensure block dimensions and free movement of the pads.
What power ranges is the clutch suitable for?
The construction is designed to reliably transmit engine power of well over 30 hp, provided the rest of the peripherals are set up and tuned accordingly.
Is the clutch also suitable for pure original engines?
For original engines, the clutch is technically more suited to the upper power range. It shows its strengths above all in sporty touring setups and performance-oriented engines with noticeably increased torque.
