BGM clutch pinions are bulletproof. Developed for the enormous power and torques of today's engines, they are manufactured to the highest production standards from a high-alloy steel (SCM415 / 15 CrMo 5). The extremely high strength of the base material (up to 1100N/mm2, HRC 58-62) provides a reassuringly safe basis for the production of BGM pinions.

Production meets the high standards for Honda transmission manufacturing. Each individual part receives a test report. BGM therefore has a permanent, continuous quality assurance system.

Please note that we recommend a straight-toothed primary drive for engines with an output above approx. 25 hp/25 Nm. The straight-toothed drives offer maximum safety. With the same possible reduction ratio (by using a different pinion pairing), they have a significantly more stable tooth base in direct comparison to the helical-toothed drives. Instead of a helical-toothed 24/65 reduction, we recommend the straight-toothed 23/63 BGM primary, for example. The reduction ratio is almost identical in both cases, but the 23/63 is the perfect choice for sporty engines because it is virtually indestructible. If the 23/63 gear ratio is too short for you, you can choose a 62-tooth primary gear and extend it even further with the individually available clutch pinions (with 24 or 25 teeth).

The helical-toothed 24-tooth special pinion is perfect for plugged setups such as Polini 210 or Malossi Sport. It can be used to further extend the available speed range and achieve a higher top speed. However, we expressly do not recommend it for heavily overworked engines with a power output above 25 hp/25 Nm. The design of the 24/65 pinion pairing does not permit this.

A characteristic feature of the BGM sprockets is their black coloring and the practical labeling indicating the number of teeth the sprocket itself has and for which primary gear it is suitable.

The sprocket with 24 teeth is particularly interesting. It fits all engines that are equipped ex works with a 23/65 sprocket/wheel combination. These are all 200cc engines of the PX200, Rally 200, with the exception of Cosa 200 models with 21/68, where the sprockets offered here do not fit.
With 24 teeth, it has a longer reduction ratio and offers a gear ratio change for more top speed by simply replacing the sprocket. Conversely, the reduction ratio can be shortened with the 22-tooth sprocket, ideal for the city or speed-oriented concepts.

BGM clutch sprockets are the perfect complement to the indestructible BGM Superstrong clutch.
All BGM Superstrong clutches with 22, 23 and 24 teeth are factory fitted with this sprocket. It can be combined with all Cosa2 clutch types (recognizable by at least 8 spring positions).
