  • Surface hardening (58-60 HRC) for high durability and minimal wear
  • Ideal for powerful motors

Areas of application

  • For standard engines, touring drivers and racing enthusiasts
  • Version with PX200 gradation, but with the shorter 4th gear of the PX125 model
  • Smaller gear jump between 3rd and 4th gear for better power delivery
  • Also ideal for touring riders in combination with extended primary reduction => Reduces revs at high cruising speeds

✅ Suitable for

  • PX Lusso (from 1984)
  • PX Disc, MY, 2011, T5, Cosa
  • LML Star 2T & Stella 2T

The Lusso gearbox is characterized by two snap rings on the main shaft and a flat shift cross. It offers a wider contact surface in the middle segment and is considered to be more stable than older versions.

Conversion of older models

  • PX engines with gearboxes up to approx. 1983 can easily be converted to the Lusso gearbox
  • The mainshaft offered here is fully compatible
  • Recommended: Simultaneous change to the more stable brake drum of the PX Lusso models (30 or 31.5 mm shaft seal diameter)

⚙️ Special cases

  • PX80, P125X, P150X
  • Older PX 125/150 models use the gearbox type of the Vespa Sprint
  • PX80 models have their own gearbox type
  • The main shaft offered here fits without any problems, but requires a suitable auxiliary shaft ("fir tree")
  • Important: Ensure a compatible auxiliary shaft axle and brake drum mounting

Helpful tips

Determining the gearbox type

  • PX old (up to 1984, cranked gear cross): 5 mm
  • Lusso (from 1984, flat gear cross): 6.5 mm
  • BGM gear wheels: +0.1 mm for additional contact surface

The gears are marked with a "TOP" mark, which must point towards the gear shift notch during installation. The installation clearance between the gears and the shoulder ring is already set(0.15-0.35 mm).

⚠️ Important information for changing the gear shift spider

  • The shift bolt has a left-hand thread
  • Loosen in a clockwise direction
