INFO: The auxiliary shaft axle has a bearing surface on which the needles of the primary bearing on the alternator side run. While the needles hardly ever wear out, the bearing surface on the auxiliary shaft axle should be inspected more closely during each engine revision. Often there are already traces of pitting (material breakouts). The auxiliary shaft axis should then be changed including the needles.
