A reed valve block is a massive flow obstruction in the intake tract. With its 'doble prisma' system, Italkit significantly improves both the available diaphragm area and the flow. This is primarily achieved by doubling the number of diaphragm tongues. This also reduces the stroke of each individual membrane tongue, which increases the flow speed within the membrane tract. As a result, the engine with the Doble Prisma is much better at the throttle than with the standard diaphragm block and is subjectively 'crisper' to drive. Larger diaphragm surface area plus better flow therefore result in a clear plus over the entire speed range. At peak power, this can mean an increase of 1-2 hp, depending on the engine's basic performance.

A nice side effect is the relatively low noise level of the Doble Prisma. Due to the distribution over several diaphragm tongues, the volume of the intake is usually significantly lower compared to a conventional diaphragm.

In the Italkit, the diaphragm tongues are screwed together with conventional Phillips screws. Replacing the carbon diaphragms is therefore quick and easy.
