bgm PRO clutch steel plates 1.0 mm - sports version for 4-disc clutches

The bgm PRO clutch steel plates in 1.0 mm are the ideal basis for4-disc sports and racing clutches. Thanks to the reduced height, an additional disk plate can be installed in many smallframe clutches. Depending on the setup, this increases the transmittable torque by around 20 to 33 % without the clutch losing any of its operability.

Like all bgm PRO steel plates, the 1.0 mm versions are ground exactly flat, run very smoothly and have no burrs. The clutch separates cleanly, can be finely metered and remains easy to control even at higher torques - perfect for powerful road engines and sporty scooters.

  • 1.0 mm sport thickness for 4-disc clutch conversions
  • Enables an additional facing disk in the package
  • Perfect concentricity, clean separation behavior
  • No burrs, ready-to-fit surface
  • Depending on the engine, up to approx. 20-33 % more transmittable torque
  • Suitable for many Vespa Smallframe sports and tuning clutches

We recommend the bgm PRO Street transmission oil (BGM2025, API GL-3 specification) as a lubricant, which supports constant clutch separation behavior and reduces wear.

Suitable for all Smallframe/Ape 50 models listed in the 1.5 mm version with classic clutch when converted to a 4-disc configuration. The basic vehicles correspond to the list above; the decisive factor is the clutch type used, not the exact model designation.

FAQ - 1.0 mm steel disks

The 1.0 mm plates are ideal for more powerful road and sports engines where a 4-disc clutch is to be used. The additional friction disk allows significantly more torque to be transmitted than with a classic 3-plate clutch.
Yes. With 4-disc conversions, the overall clutch pack thickness should always be checked. The pack must not protrude into the clutch basket and must be able to separate completely. Depending on the engine power, a harder central spring or stronger individual springs may be advisable.
Theoretically, this is possible, but it leads to a lower clutch pack thickness and changes the separation behavior. 1.0 mm discs are particularly useful where a 4-disc packis to be explicitly set up.
Yes, for many race setups the 1.0 mm version is a very good compromise between high power transmission and still moderate clutch pack thickness. For extremely compact clutches or very high spring pressures, the 0.8 mm version can provide additional leeway.
This is how we ensure, that reviews come from real consumers.
