The engine cover covers the engine part protruding from the body and protects it from splash water and dirt. At the same time it serves to reduce engine noise to the outside.
Originally the cover was used on the late PX Lusso, the T5 and the Cosa models.
It is attached to the engine by means of an M7 spacer nut, which is mounted instead of a normal nut on the engine bolt near the shock absorber mount. Further mounting points are the screws of the fan wheel cover. Due to the different shapes of the fan duct between T5 and PX/Cosa, the hole (at the height of the CDI) in the cover may have to be adjusted.
