Gold meets precision! The gold CNC-machined oil sump from TR-Factory transforms a normally inconspicuous engine component into an exceptional custom detail. Its warm, metallic gold finish highlights the elaborately machined contours and gives the engine housing an exclusive, sporty appearance. Particularly fascinating is the combination of gold surfaces, finely textured machining patterns and the contrasting silver-coloured oil sight glass mounting. A design that makes technical precision visible while creating a distinctive visual statement.
Manufactured from CNC-machined 6061 aluminium, the TR-Factory oil sump replaces the original Piaggio component with part number B013437. It is intended for corresponding Piaggio IGET and LEM engines with displacements from 125 to 200 cc. In addition to its striking design, it features an integrated oil sight glass that allows an additional visual inspection of the engine oil level.
The gold version stands out through its exceptional surface appearance. The rich gold tone looks smooth and uniform across the larger housing sections, while the finely machined textures break up incoming light into countless small reflections. This creates different shades of brightness that give the surface a remarkable sense of depth and movement.
The raised longitudinal ribs stand out clearly against the densely machined surfaces between them. Their smooth upper faces reflect light more strongly, emphasising the elongated geometry of the oil sump. At the same time, the triangular recesses in the lower section add further contours and reinforce the technically inspired design.
The TR-Factory lettering, machined directly into the aluminium, blends naturally into the gold surface. It remains subtle enough not to overwhelm the overall design, yet is clearly recognisable thanks to the surrounding machining textures. The colour scheme is particularly suitable for Vespa custom builds featuring gold wheels, colour-coordinated CNC components or carefully selected metallic accents.
A striking feature of the construction is the circular oil sight glass on the outside of the oil sump. Its gold surround matches the housing colour, while the surrounding silver-coloured mounting creates an effective contrast.
Three visible hex socket screws secure the mounting and emphasise its mechanical design. Curved, concentrically arranged machining contours frame the sight glass, giving the assembly the appearance of a separate precision-engineered component. The dark seal and reflective viewing window provide additional visual accents.
The integrated sight glass allows an additional visual check of the engine oil level. It complements conventional inspection methods but does not replace the conditions and procedures for checking the oil level specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
The exterior design is characterised by several housing sections of different heights. Wide, smoothly machined surfaces alternate with narrow ribs, precisely finished transitions and closely spaced milling patterns. These differences in height are particularly noticeable on the gold version thanks to the changing reflections of light.
The interior also reveals a carefully machined aluminium construction. Generously sized recesses, flowing transitions and clearly defined housing contours determine its structure. The continuous sealing surface and the integrated mounting holes and threaded fixing points are precisely incorporated into the geometry.
The CNC machining process can be recognised on the interior surfaces through fine circular and longitudinal machining marks. The gold finish extends into the visible internal sections, giving the entire construction a consistent appearance.
The listed vehicle ranges include different engine and equipment variants. Compatibility requires the use of the original Piaggio oil sump with part number B013437. Before ordering, the vehicle details must be compared with the part number of the originally fitted component.
During installation, the sealing surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and the required gaskets replaced in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. The original Piaggio oil sump gasket carries part number B014152. Before fitting, check whether this gasket or any other required installation components are included in the scope of delivery.
The engine oil level must be checked under the conditions specified by the vehicle manufacturer. These include, in particular, a level surface and the correct vehicle position. The integrated sight glass provides an additional visual inspection option but does not replace the manufacturer's specifications regarding oil level, oil quantity and maintenance.
Depending on the vehicle model, the variator cover may partially obstruct the oil sight glass. Before installation, it should therefore be checked whether the sight glass will remain sufficiently visible once fitted. Modifications or a suitable cover may be required.
The gold TR-Factory oil sump combines an expressive metallic appearance with the fascination of elaborate CNC machining. Its golden-yellow reflections, sculpted housing contours and contrasting oil sight glass make it a distinctive addition to sophisticated Vespa custom projects. A technical component that not only fulfils its function but also creates carefully considered visual accents.
