BGM PRO Torquemaster - uncompromisingly built for extreme engines.We have completely revised our gear wheel series. The latest evolutionary stage is the BGM PRO Torquemaster gearwheels. While the previous BGM PRO gearwheels were already extremely resilient, the new Torquemaster is a statement in terms of performance. Developed for engines with over 30 hp and over 35 Nm of torque. We were uncompromising in all respects: the choice of material, the heat treatment - nothing compares to the already good standard material. Manufactured from the same special steel that is used in high-performance gearboxes at KTM and BMW. Hardened at ThyssenKrupp, destructively tested in the laboratory - we are highly satisfied with the extreme resilience of the new gears. If maximum fatigue strength, precise dimensional accuracy and consistently good shifting performance are also important features for you, then these are your gears.

Material properties and heat treatmentThe new BGM PRO Torquemaster gears set new standards - manufactured from 14NiCrMo13 (1.6657), a high-alloy case-hardening steel that is normally used in motorsport and motorcycle gearbox construction. Compared to the previous 20NiCrMo2-2, this results in a massive increase in load-bearing capacity:
✔️ Approx. 3.25 % nickel contentEnsures maximum toughness combined with high surface hardness - perfect for load changes, gear changes under full load or clutch impacts.
✔️ Hardness range 58-60 HRCExtremely wear-resistant on the outside - elastic at the core. The perfect setup for maximum contact and bending loads.
✔️ High dimensional accuracy after hardeningNo distortion, no reworking - the precise tooth geometry ensures smooth running-in and quiet running.
✔️ Industrial heat treatment at ThyssenKruppFor absolutely reproducible microstructural properties - just like OEM components from mass production.

Note: Two versions available
The Torquemaster gears are available in two versions:
✔️ 4th gear with 35 teeth - corresponds to the original PX gradation. We recommend this version for powerful engines, as the tooth base is wider and more stable due to the lower number of teeth. If required, the gear jump can be shortened using a suitable auxiliary shaft (e.g. 17-20 or 16-19).
✔️ 4th gear with 36 teeth - ideal for near-series setups where a shorter gear jump from 3rd to 4th gear is required without changing the auxiliary shaft.
Compatibility
The new Torquemaster gears are 100% interchangeable with all original Vespa gears from Lusso design (from 1984 onwards). Suitable for the following models:
