Many classic Vespa models run without a battery with an AC electrical system - including Wideframe and selected Largeframe models. It is ideal if you have converted your Vespa to a modern alternator and ignition with 12V, but want to retain the classic look and original mounting.
AC means alternating current, i.e. alternating voltage. On AC vehicle electrical systems without a battery, buzzers are generally used, recognizable by a pitch that rises and falls with the engine speed.
DC means direct current, i.e. direct voltage. A real horn sounds constantly, regardless of the engine speed, and is usually used on vehicle electrical systems with a battery.
