Advantages at a glance

Sport advance curve: more pre-ignition at low revs for noticeably more torque, pre-ignition decreases in the higher range.
110 W power: high electrical reserves even at low engine speeds for bright light.
Stable pole wheel: manufactured in one piece, precisely balanced and with exact concentricity.
12V AC for models without battery: alternating current is limited and stabilized via voltage regulator.
Black Edition: black matt anodized CNC fan wheel if the pole wheel is to remain visible.

Ignition - SIP VAPE SPORT Black Edition - 12V AC - Vespa Smallframe Ø20mm cone

The SIP PERFORMANCE by VAPE Sport "Black Edition" is a variable 12V AC ignition for smallframe engines with Ø20 mm cone. Technically it is based on the SIP VAPE Sport ignition, visually the black matt anodized CNC fan wheel is added as a visible style update. The Sport advance curve delivers more pre-ignition for more torque at low revs and reduces pre-ignition in the higher range.

AC or DC - what's the difference?

AC is the most common variant for models without a battery. The alternating current of the alternator is limited and stabilized via the voltage regulator. DC is interesting if a battery is operated and digital consumers are to be supplied.

The following applies to this version: 12V AC - ideal for PK models without a battery and classic vehicle electrical system.

Setting and installation

Markings: Ignition timing is marked on the pole wheel and base plate, making basic adjustment possible even without a flash lamp (TDC must be determined accurately).
Pickup arrangement: arranged in two parts one behind the other, therefore less sensitive to lateral misalignment.
Polewheel puller: original pole wheel puller also fits SIP VAPE.

Suitable for

Note: This version is designed for Ø20 mm cone. It can also be used on older engine generations with contact ignition and small Ø19 mm cone if the engine has been converted to a crankshaft with Ø20 mm cone.

FAQ

More pre-ignition at low engine speeds provides more torque, while the pre-ignition is reduced at higher engine speeds. This means that combustion runs cooler and the usable engine speed range is wider.
For models without a battery with a classic AC on-board electrical system. The alternating current generated is limited and stabilized by the voltage regulator.
Yes, if the engine has been converted to a crankshaft with a Ø20 mm cone. Many older engines have a Ø19 mm cone ex works.
