Piaggio Key Blank with Transponder – Gilera Nexus Centenario

Genuine Piaggio key blank with transponder for Gilera Nexus Centenario models with an electronic immobilizer. The blank serves as the basis for a new or additional operating key and is listed under Piaggio original part number 675556.

The key is not ready for use when supplied. The mechanical key blade must first be cut to match the existing vehicle key or locking system. The transponder must then be programmed to the vehicle's electronic immobilizer.

Preparing the key blank

Before programming the transponder, the key blade must already have been mechanically cut to match the vehicle. Programming the transponder does not replace the mechanical cutting of the key.

New keys with a transponder must be programmed to the vehicle's electronic immobilizer before first use. On appropriately equipped Piaggio and Gilera immobilizer systems, the brown master key is required for this procedure.

Important: The individual programming steps must be carried out quickly one after another. No more than 10 seconds may elapse between changing keys.

Instructions for programming new keys

  1. Insert the master key: Insert the brown master key into the ignition switch.
  2. Switch on the ignition: Turn the master key to ON, wait 1–2 seconds and then turn it back to OFF. Remove the master key.
  3. Insert the new key: Within 10 seconds, insert the new, correctly cut operating key (Slave-Key) into the ignition switch.
  4. Program the new key: Turn the ignition to ON, wait 1–2 seconds and then turn it back to OFF. Remove the key.
  5. Program additional keys: If additional or existing operating keys are to remain in use, they must also be programmed one after another. Insert each key within 10 seconds, turn the ignition to ON for 1–2 seconds and then back to OFF.
  6. Complete the programming procedure: Finally, insert the brown master key again, turn the ignition to ON for 1–2 seconds and then back to OFF. Remove the master key.

Check operation

After completing the programming procedure, check the behaviour of the immobilizer indicator light. Then insert the new key and attempt to start the engine. If the engine starts normally, the key has been programmed successfully.

Note: The brown master key is essential for this programming procedure. Existing operating keys must be programmed again during the same programming sequence if they are to remain usable.

The procedure described applies to appropriately equipped Piaggio and Gilera immobilizer systems using a brown master key. Programming may differ on other generations of immobilizer systems.
