Piaggio Key Blank without Transponder – Gilera DNA 50, 125, 180

Genuine Piaggio key blank for Gilera DNA models without an electronic immobilizer. The mechanical key blank with Piaggio original part number 970239 is intended as a replacement for a damaged or lost vehicle key or for making an additional key.

This version does not contain a transponder and therefore requires no electronic programming. For use, only the metal key blade needs to be cut to match the existing locking system.

Design and construction

The key features a circular red plastic head. An elongated, slightly curved opening in the upper section is provided for attaching a key ring. The front features an embossed oval contour with two vertical lines in the center.

The silver-colored metal key blade has a longitudinal profile with a clearly defined central guide structure. Lateral profile sections and a pre-shaped tip characterize the mechanical design.

The key blade is supplied without individual cutting. The locking code required for the respective ignition lock is created by mechanically cutting the blank.

Making a new vehicle key

The key blank is supplied with an uncut key blade. To produce a functional key, the individual locking profile must be mechanically cut using an existing original key or the corresponding locking code as a reference.

The key can be cut by a suitable locksmith equipped with the necessary tools for the respective key profile.

Note: This key blank is intended exclusively for locking systems without an electronic immobilizer. As no transponder is integrated, no electronic programming is required. Once correctly cut, the key can be used directly for mechanical operation of the corresponding vehicle locks.
