NOTE: Different mounting distances PX old <=> PX Lusso
The PX old models have a wide distance of the square holes in the frame rear, the Lusso models from 1984 on have a narrower distance.
So the different splash guards are not plug and play interchangeable.
There are however many frames after 1984 which have both holes. these are recognizable by four square holes in the rear end plate. Here all versions fit.
VARIANTS
The early models have a silver-grey bracket with an additional rubber splash guard attached. This is also popular with customizers as it looks quite sporty when freed from the rubber flap and modified a bit. Also quite slim and well fitting is the part of the models from 2001 onwards. This takes up the round shapes of the side hoods and looks very harmonious.
It can become problematic with the number plate attachment with the projecting and angular versions of the T5 as well as the models from 1998-2000. Here the end of the splash guard protrudes far to the rear, whereby a large license plate cannot be mounted without wide spacing.
TIP: The splash guard is held from the body inside only by so-called spring nuts. These can be carefully levered off the plastic lugs and the splash guard removed.
