Function and area of application

Together with the adjusting nut, the spring plate forms the basis for the spring preload on the shock absorber. By turning it, the effective spring preload can be adjusted to the rider's weight, riding style and intended use and the response of the suspension can be fine-tuned.

Allows sensitive adjustment of the suspension for solo or pillion use, luggage and different road conditions.
Ideal as a replacement part for original components, but also as a visual upgrade.

Design and color variants

In addition to the technical function, the focus is on the look: The adjustment elements are available in different colors and allow the BGM PRO shock absorbers to be color-coordinated with the vehicle paint, add-on parts or other BGM PRO components. Discreet or eye-catching, they can be used to set specific accents at the rear or front of the vehicle.

Visual upgrade of existing BGM PRO dampers with little effort.

Fitting instructions

The lower spring plate or adjusting nut is replaced on the unloaded shock absorber. As a rule, it is sufficient to remove the shock absorber, relax the spring and replace the old plate with the new part.

Relieve the shock absorber for the conversion, ideally remove it and clamp it securely.
Carefully relax the spring, remove the spring plate and replace it with the new adjustment element.
After installation, roughly set the spring preload to the initial value and then fine-tune while riding.

FAQ: BGM PRO spring plate / adjusting nut

Frequently asked questions

For which shock absorbers is the spring plate suitable?
The lower spring plate is designed for BGM PRO Competition and Sport shock absorbers. Other shock absorbers are not included in the design and should only be used in combination with this part after carefully checking the dimensions.
Does the spring seat change the handling?
The component itself does not increase performance, but allows the spring preload to be adjusted precisely. The correct setting can noticeably optimize spring deflection and stability.
Do I need special tools for the adjustment?
The appropriate wrench is included with all BGM PRO shock absorbers. The shock absorber should be relieved so that the spring plate can be adjusted without great effort.
Is the spring plate only available individually or as a set?
Depending on the version, the spring plate is available as an individual part or as a set with several colored adjustment elements. For example, the front and rear suspension struts or the left and right sides of the vehicle can be visually matched.
Is installation also feasible for experienced hobby mechanics?
Yes. Anyone who is familiar with the removal and installation of shock absorbers can usually replace the spring plate themselves without any problems. What is important is a relieved shock absorber, clean work and a subsequent test ride to check the adjustment.
