Design and protective function

The two-bar rear frame fits snugly around the side cover and end plate and forms a protective contour around the rear. In the event of manoeuvres, small skids or contact with the garage wall, the crash bar absorbs the first impact and protects the sheet metal and paintwork from unnecessary damage. At the same time, the classic tubular design makes the scooter look much more "complete" and gives it a harmonious vintage appearance.

Depending on the variant, the crash bar is available with a high-gloss chrome finish or coated in black or white - ideal for creating contrasts or visually picking up on existing add-on parts such as luggage racks, bumpers or rims.

Mounting and compatibility

They are attached to the rear using the existing screw points on the license plate mount. Additional holes in the frame are not required.
At the front, the tubes are fixed to the side parts using classic clamps. This ensures that the crash bar sits securely and can be removed again at any time without leaving any residue.
Suitable for all classic smallframe sheet metal frames such as Vespa V50 (incl. Special and N/L/S), PV125, ET3 and PK 50-125 shift models (PK S, PK XL). For PK XL2 models with a plastic tail light holder, we recommend converting to a classic aluminum/chrome tail light; the bracket can then be fitted cleanly and a homogeneous vintage look can be achieved.
Spanish Motovespa smallframes with V50/Primavera/PK sheet metal cut can also be fitted with the crash bar, such as models from the 75 series and 125 Primavera license versions on a smallframe basis.

Material and design

The AMS CUPPINI crash bar is made of sturdy tubular steel with neatly executed weld seams. The chrome-plated versions have a high-quality gloss finish, while the colored versions have a durable coating. This makes the bar a suitable addition for everyday scooters as well as for well-kept restorations.

FAQ: Rear crash bar AMS CUPPINI

Frequently asked questions

Does the crash bar fit Vespa PK XL2?
Yes, basically yes. On PK XL2 with a large plastic rear light bracket, this should be removed and converted to a classic metal rear light. Then the bracket follows the rear plate cleanly and looks visually coherent.
Do holes have to be drilled into the frame for installation?
No. The crash bar is attached at the rear via the license plate screw connection, while at the front it is secured with clamps on the side parts. The frame remains unchanged.
Which Motovespa models are covered?
All Motovespa small frames with V50/Primavera/PK rear geometry - for example 75cc models and 125 Primavera license versions - can generally be equipped in the same way as their Italian counterparts. The decisive factor is the identical rear shape and the usual license plate or rear light mount.
Can I combine the crash bar with a luggage rack or seat rails?
In many cases, yes, as long as the mounting on the license plate holder remains free and the components do not interfere with each other. In the case of very wide carriers or special parts, we recommend a brief fitting before final assembly.
