DELL'ORTO SHBC 19.19 Flat-slide Carburetor for Vespa 50, 90, 100, Primavera, ET3, and PK. Tried-and-true 19-mm carburetor as a near-stock replacement or for boosting the performance of small-frame engines, including those with 75–112 cm³.
Note: When converting from smaller carburetors, a matching 19-mm intake manifold is required.
The DELL'ORTO SHB/SHBC series is one of the classic Vespa carburetors. Its simple and reliable design has been used for decades in numerous small-frame models. The SHBC 19.19, with a 19 mm throat, is suitable both as a near-stock replacement for the Vespa Primavera and ET3 and for boosting the performance of smaller Vespa engines.
Even 75 cm³ engines benefit from a larger carburetor. Sporty cylinders like the Polini Racing or DR F1 can rev noticeably more freely with a 19-mm carburetor and respond more lively to throttle inputs. For engines with 102 or 112 cm³, the SHBC 19.19 also offers a sufficiently large bore for many street-oriented tuning concepts.
The conversion is particularly effective when the intake valve timing is also adjusted. A crankshaft with an extended intake angle can make better use of the increased air-fuel mixture supply and, compared to simple plug-and-play tuning with a stock crankshaft, can deliver significant advantages in terms of power and responsiveness.
The SHBC features a compact design, is easy to maintain, and is straightforward to tune. Thanks to its largely uniform external design, this carburetor type is particularly well-suited for retrofitting Vespa V50 and PK50 models, which are often equipped with smaller 16-mm carburetors as standard.
The included jet set consists of a 74 main jet, a 45 idle jet, and a 60 starter jet. It serves as a starting point and must be adjusted as needed to match the cylinder, air filter, and exhaust.

A larger carburetor also requires a matching intake manifold. The SHB/SHBC carburetors differ not only in their bore size but also, depending on the model, in their connection diameter. The SHBC 19.19 has a clamp connection on the engine side with a diameter of 23.1 mm.
When converting from a stock 16-mm carburetor, a suitable 19-mm intake manifold and air filter are therefore required; the throttle cable and choke control can be reused from the existing 16-mm carburetor.
After installation, the carburetor tuning must be checked. Especially with tuned cylinders, the supplied main jet should not be used without testing, as a mixture that is too lean can lead to overheating and engine damage.

Important: The vehicle compatibility list includes both standard applications and retrofits. A suitable intake manifold is required, particularly for the Vespa 50, 90, and PK models. The connection diameter and installation configuration should be verified before ordering.
