The BGM PRO O-ring with 21 x 3.00 mm dimensions seals the engine swing arm against the frame or the bearing bush. It protects the swing arm bearing against the ingress of water and dirt and thus makes a decisive contribution to the clean lateral guidance of the engine - a component that receives special attention during the technical inspection of the chassis components.
In contrast to many simple retrofit parts made of NBR, BGM PRO uses high-quality EPDM material. This is significantly more resistant to ageing, ozone and weathering and retains its elasticity over a long period of time. As a result, the bearing point of the engine swing arm is better protected and the function of the entire engine suspension is stabilized.
The O-ring is located in the area of the engine swing arm and seals the transition between the engine mount and frame or bearing bolt. It prevents water, dirt and road salt from reaching the swing arm bushes directly and causing corrosion or increased wear.
The O-ring should always be pushed onto a clean, lightly greased surface. Damaged or hardened old parts must always be replaced. Particularly after replacing the silentbloc bearings, it is advisable to replace the O-rings at the same time in order to provide optimum protection for the overhauled bearings.
It has proven to be a good idea to apply a little acid-free assembly grease or multi-purpose grease to the O-ring before fitting. This makes it easier to insert into the groove and prevents it from being damaged or twisted when the bearing pin is pushed on.
The O-ring fits the following models, among others (depending on year of manufacture and version):
Note: If in doubt, always check the dimensions of the existing O-ring and the design of the swingarm bearing on your own vehicle.
