Sticky's eccentric kit: How to get the maximum braking power out of your Lambretta
This ingenious kit was developed by Martin 'Sticky' Round together with Casa Performance. You may be familiar with the tiresome issue: the rear brake is often sticky, difficult to modulate and does not pull properly because the brake shoes do not make even contact with the drum.
The kit is the professional solution to this well-known problem and consists of two approaches:
- Measuring: Using the special tool (included in the kit), you check whether the brake shoes in your drum really do open synchronously.
- Adjust: If the shoes are not working evenly - which is often the case - the special eccentric brake pad bolts are used.
With the help of these eccentric bolts and various washers, you can adjust the pads exactly so that they grip the drum perfectly at the same time.
What are the benefits of correct adjustment with this kit?
- Immediate performance: The braking effect is significantly better right from the start, even with brand new shoes.
- No endless grinding: You hardly ever have to manually grind or adjust the friction material on the shoes to make it fit. A massive time saver!
- Faster braking: The time it takes to grind new brake pads onto the drum is reduced enormously.
Will the kit fit my Lambretta?
Yes, it fits almost all Lambretta models: LI, LIS, SX, TV, GT, Special, GP and DL (125, 150 and 200 cc).
- Aftermarket cases: The kit also fits easily into engine cases from Casa Performance, Gran Turismo, Killercase and UNI.
- Tech tip: We have achieved the best results with LI type brake shoes in combination with the high LI brake cam. However, the kit also works with GP shoes and the thinner GP cam.
