High-end shock absorber Stage6 R/T MKII Upside Down front for Vespa PK/PX*.

The revised MK2 version features an increased adjustment range to further refine the adaptation to the requirements of different riders / riding styles, tracks and conditions. Another new feature is that compression and rebound damping can be adjusted independently and no longer affect each other. For example, if the rebound damping of the shock absorber is reduced, the compression damping remains unchanged. This makes fine adjustment of the shock absorber a good deal more versatile.

Technical data:

  • Shock absorber front
  • length: 185mm
  • Piston rod: Ø14mm
  • Hole mounting bottom: 33-38mm
  • Spring length: 125mm
  • Spring rate: 110lb
  • Compression: 8 clicks
  • Rebound damping: 18 clicks
  • Spring preload: 15 mm
  • Color: black / orange
  • Range: Racing (no TÜV)

The damper for Vespa PK / PX* models impresses with outstanding material and workmanship quality. The body is CNC machined to guarantee reliability, robustness and precision.
The S6 R/T shock absorber is designed in principle for racing use, but can also be used for everyday use.

NOTE: The shock absorber has a length of only 185mm (series PK=210mm, PX=255mm).

Mounting on Vespa PK
When mounted on a PK fork, the Stage6 shock absorber is 25mm shorter than a conventional shock absorber. The front is lowered with the shock absorber, the swingarm angle becomes flatter. The resulting lower center of gravity and noticeably longer trail improves driving stability and straight-line stability at higher speeds. However, the steering head angle also changes, this becomes steeper (in the direction of more handling).

*Mounting on Vespa PX
When mounted on a PK fork, the Stage6 shock absorber is 70mm shorter than a conventional shock absorber. The swingarm angle would therefore be significantly too flat, the vehicle handling poor.
Therefore, to mount the Stage6 shock absorber, the fork length (between the swingarm and the output hole for the speedometer cable/brake cable) should be shortened at the same time. It is not necessary to compensate for the full 70mm difference, but the fork can be shortened by only 40-50mm to get the advantage of the flatter swingarm angle here as well. Fine tuning of the handling can be achieved via the spacer on the rear shock absorber. If the front is lowered too far, the handling can become too nervous due to a too steep steering head angle. Reducing the rear spacer length (lowering the rear of the vehicle) improves this again.
