This tank set is our in-house all-round carefree package for classic Vespa Largeframe models: a high-quality, Italian-made tank (from the manufacturer of the original Piaggio tanks) - including factory-typical, petrol-resistant paint. Means: install and ride without degreasing, priming or painting.

Factory tank quality: very good fit, clean dimensional accuracy and solid sheet metal thickness.

Petrol-proof paint finish like the factory tank: no additional painting work necessary.

No installation frustration: fuel tap is already fitted - no fiddling in the tank, no special wrench.

Useful upgrade: modern PX Lusso cover replaces older cover systems and makes the tank suitable for everyday use.

Scope of delivery and design

Tank: Italian OEM production, factory paint finish, PX Lusso design (from approx. 1983).

Fuel tap (Italy): pre-assembled, high-quality design, 3 positions.

Fuel hose: BGM original, material as Piaggio original - with original hose clamp (no clamp).

Fuel cap: ZADI (OEM supplier), PX Lusso / Arcobaleno / EFL, bayonet-style closure.

Fuel tap: Operation and reserve

The fitted fuel tap has the classic three positions:

C (Chiuso) - closed

A (Aperto) - Open

R (Reserva) - Reserve

The reserve quantity corresponds to the usual design and is approx. 1.0-1.5 liters.

Compatibility and use

Design: corresponds to the PX models from approx. 1983 (conversion to Lusso tank cap).

Downward compatible: also fits many older largeframe models (see model list).

Upgrade for early models: modern cap as a practical alternative to older cap systems.

Also for later PX models: useful if, for example, separate lubrication has been deactivated and no fuel gauge is required.

Recommendation for installation: Replace the tank rubber

For installation, we recommend a new tank rubber to insulate the tank from the frame and prevent chafing. Available in cork and rubber.

Recommendation: durable petrol-resistant Viton (brown) for a long service life and high resistance.
