The BGS Technic ratcheting tool holders are designed for the manual operation of taps. The integrated ratchet mechanism enables controlled work even in areas where there is insufficient space to use a conventional tap wrench.
The products are available with different holder sizes. This allows the tool holder to be selected according to the square shank of the tap being used.
The integrated ratchet mechanism allows the clamped tap to be turned incrementally without having to reposition the tool holder after each movement. The direction of rotation can be switched between forward and reverse.
This design is particularly useful when working in difficult-to-access areas or where adjacent components restrict the available swing range of the tool.
The square shank of the tap is inserted into the holder at the end of the tool. The knurled surface of the clamping section provides a secure grip when inserting and securing the tap.
The tool holders are available in different versions with different holder sizes. When selecting the product, ensure that the holder matches the square shank of the tap being used.
For manual operation, the tool holder is equipped with a cross handle that passes through the cylindrical tool body. The handle can be moved from side to side, allowing the lever position to be adapted to the available working space.
The combination of the ratchet mechanism and sliding cross handle enables controlled tool operation during repair, maintenance and servicing work.
The tool holders are suitable for manually cutting new internal threads as well as reworking suitable existing threads. For a clean result, the tap should be positioned straight in relation to the bore axis and guided in a controlled manner. A suitable cutting lubricant for the material being machined can support the cutting process and chip removal.
Only use taps with a square shank that matches the respective tool holder. Before starting work, check that the tap is correctly and securely seated. Use suitable personal protective equipment during machining.
