The front centre footboard trim strip for Royal Alloy GP, JPS and TG is a genuine metal component designed to secure the rubber footboard strip on the left side of the footboard. Available as an individual spare part under Royal Alloy original part number 0312020016-10-001, this silver-coloured support strip forms the shaped base structure of the footboard trim and connects the mounting points with the integrated footboard trim end pieces.
The actual foot contact surface is provided by a separately fitted rubber footboard strip. An additional protective rubber underlay is positioned between the metal strip and the footboard. It separates the metal construction from the painted bodywork surface and prevents direct contact between the components. Neither the upper rubber footboard strip nor the rubber underlay is included in the scope of delivery.
The footboard trim strip features a long, narrow body consisting of two parallel metal profiles. Several transverse connecting bars divide the open space between them into elongated openings. This construction provides the mounting structure for the rubber footboard strip above without requiring a completely closed metal surface.
A distinctive design feature is the clearly upward-curved section at one end of the strip. This follows the contour of the footboard in the designated mounting area. The opposite end has a flatter shape. Both ends feature rounded, permanently integrated finishing pieces with mounting holes.
Additional mounting points are located on the underside. These ensure vehicle-specific positioning and installation of the strip. As the end pieces are already part of the metal construction, they do not need to be fitted separately during replacement.
The metal strip is designed for the front centre position on the left side of the vehicle. It must not be confused with the inner or outer footboard trim strips. The corresponding version for the right side of the vehicle is also a separate spare part with a different shape.
Before replacement, it is advisable to remove the existing rubber footboard strip and the protective underlay beneath it and inspect their condition. Damaged, hardened or deformed rubber components should be replaced separately. The matching centre rubber footboard strip is available under Royal Alloy original part number 0312020020-10-001.
During installation, the existing mounting points on the footboard must be clean and undamaged. The rubber underlay is positioned between the metal strip and the footboard. The support strip is then secured, and the upper rubber footboard strip is fitted into the designated mounting area.
The genuine Royal Alloy footboard trim strip 0312020016-10-001 allows the left centre footboard trim to be repaired individually. Its specific contour, integrated end pieces and silver-coloured surface correspond to the original construction and allow the metal support to be replaced without having to replace the remaining footboard trim strips.
