Braking is performance – and this POLINI Wave brake disc looks every bit the part. Its distinctive wave contour, dynamically arranged cut-outs and numerous ventilation slots give the front wheel an uncompromisingly sporty character. A technical upgrade that does not only make its presence felt while riding, but delivers genuine racing flair even when the scooter is standing still.
With an outer diameter of 220 mm and a thickness of 4 mm, the brake disc is designed for a wide range of sporty scooters from Gilera, Piaggio and Aprilia. POLINI combines its characteristic Wave geometry with a construction designed to cope with demanding braking conditions.
The distinctive contour is far more than a visual detail. The wave profile and ventilation slots distributed across the friction surface support heat dissipation from the brake disc. Particularly during sporty riding and repeated braking, controlled management of the generated heat is an important factor for consistent braking behaviour.
At the same time, the design creates the unmistakable appearance of a performance brake disc. The combination of the wave-shaped outer edge, slim slots and large flowing cut-outs gives the disc a light, technical and dynamic appearance – exactly the look that suits a sporty Gilera Runner, Piaggio NRG or Aprilia Sport City One.
POLINI manufactures the brake disc from AISI 420 steel. The contours are precisely laser cut, followed by heat treatment and CNC machining. The result is a high-quality brake disc suitable both as a replacement for a worn original disc and as a sporty upgrade.
The engraved POLINI logo adds a subtle brand detail to the metallic surface and underlines the performance credentials of the Italian tuning specialist.
The brake disc has an outer diameter of 220 mm and an inner diameter of 58 mm. It is mounted using five 6.5 mm holes on an 80 mm pitch circle diameter. Disc thickness is 4 mm, while the minimum thickness specified by POLINI is 3.5 mm.
As individual vehicle models may use different braking components depending on model year and specification, the dimensions and mounting pattern should be compared with the existing brake disc before ordering.
