Conventional battery that is delivered dry and pre-charged.
By filling it with battery acid (not included), the battery is ready for use within a short time (~1 hour). Filling should be done while wearing appropriate protective gear (goggles, gloves) and using suitable tools (funnel and, if necessary, paper towels). Fill the acid up to the maximum mark, wait about 5 minutes, and refill if necessary. Then allow the battery to vent for about 1 hour before reinserting the plugs that were previously removed (the side vent must remain open).
Conventional batteries require some maintenance to maintain their full capacity. This includes regularly checking the acid level. Top up only with distilled water, not with acid.
NOTE: The following special provisions apply to the sale of starter batteries: Pursuant to Section 10 of the Battery Act (BattG), the seller is obligated to collect a deposit of 7.50 euros, including sales tax, from end users if the end user does not return a used starter battery to the seller at the time of purchase of the new starter battery. Upon purchasing a starter battery, the customer receives a deposit receipt. When returning the old starter battery to a collection point established by the public waste management authority, the customer must have the disposal confirmed by means of a stamp and signature. The customer may then return this confirmation to the seller, along with their customer number, to receive a refund of the deposit. Alternatively, the customer may also return the old starter battery directly to the seller along with the deposit receipt to receive a refund of the deposit. (Due to the Hazardous Materials Ordinance, shipping the old battery to the seller is not permitted.)
