Here is an overview of the force applied to the brake piston when combining different calipers and pump combinations. In general, increasing the size of the slave pistons while the master pistons remain the same always results in an increase in braking force, albeit with a longer lever travel. Conversely, if a brake pump is fitted with a larger piston but the same brake calliper, the force applied to the brake pistons will decrease, but the lever travel will be shorter. This makes the brake more direct, but requires more leverage for the same braking power.
