Hybrid crankshaft for converting old contact ignition engines with electronic PX ignition. The engines often referred to in specialist circles as "Sprint engines" still have a small alternator cone (recognizable by the M11 thread and a pole nut with collar/shoulder). This type of crankshaft was used long before the Sprint models that gave it its name, e.g. in the popular VBB scooters from the 1960s.
OPTIMIZE
All 125-150cc largeframe engines that use this old type of crankshaft have in common that they still use contact ignition. At the same time, the crankshaft stub is relatively thin. If you want to optimize the engine, you can kill two birds with one stone with the shaft shown here, in which two types of crankshaft have virtually been fused together. The cone is thicker and a modern electronic contact ignition of the PX models can be used (these are also available in a performance-enhanced version from BGM).
ZUVERLÄSSIGER
This type of shaft can therefore be used to increase the light output and reliability many times over without much effort, while retaining the original engine. This shaft is produced in small series by the Italian crankshaft manufacturer Mazzucchelli, which is steeped in tradition.
STROKE LENGTH
The conversion shafts are available with a standard stroke of 57 mm as well as a 60 mm long-stroke version. The latter increases the displacement, the longer stroke is compensated for with spacers on the cylinder head.
NOTE: The cone on the alternator side of the Mazzucchelli crankshaft is slightly slimmer than the original PX cone. Please check that the cone does not protrude beyond the seat of the pole wheel nut before tightening the pole wheel. If this is not the case, use a suitable shim to compensate!
