Bore 66 mm, stroke 58 mm, gray cast iron, timing: Exhaust 170°, transfer port 120°, intake - diaphragm-controlled, advance 25°.
The cylinder is supplied with an intake manifold with 34 mm connection width for 28 mm and 30 mm carburetors, so that the original air filter box can continue to operate quietly. Thanks to the very narrow reed valve block from the kart sector, there are no space problems with the frame or side cover. Only the cylinder cover needs to be slightly modified because of the intake manifold.
The kit's power is available early on, so long gear ratios can be used and a decent cruising speed is already available at a low engine speed level. With the Mikuni TM 24 carburetor and the Clubman exhaust, the power output is 16-18 hp. With the old AF NK exhaust, the power output is over 20 hp.
The Granturismo comes with cylinder, intake manifold, reed valve block, upper connecting rod bearing, screws and gaskets as well as the very high-quality Yamaha piston. In addition to its good performance, the cylinder also impresses with fairly moderate consumption values. At 60 mph (96 km/h), for example, the carburetor is said to gush well under 4 liters.
CONCLUSION: The Granturismo is the ideal cylinder for anyone who does not want to change the look of their vehicle, but at the same time does not want to do without extra power in order to be able to go on longer tours in a relaxed manner.
