The Pinasco 260cc engine kit is suitable for all Vespa largeframe models such as Vespa PX, T5, Sprint, TS, Rally, Super, GT, GTR, VNA, VNB, VBA, VBB. Also suitable for the Spanish Motovespa such as CL, DN, DS, TX, PX, GS, Sprint, GT160 and the licensed models from LML / Stella. This means that the displacement of a 125cc vehicle can be doubled without this being noticeable to the outside world. Pinasco specifies a power output of up to over 30 hp, which is of course heavily dependent on the components used, such as the exhaust and carburetor. One of the Pinasco 260cc engine's strengths is its smooth running and good pulling power.
The cases are manufactured in two versions:
MASTER = THREE-SLIDE INLET (AS FROM PIAGGIO)
SLAVE = MEMBRANE CONTROLLED
Bore: Ø73mm
Stroke: 62 mm
Displacement: 260ccm
Crankshaft
The casing is based on the Vespa T5 engine casing. It therefore has a wide and therefore stable crankshaft. The enclosed Pinasco crankshaft has splines on the clutch side. Therefore, only Pinasco's own clutch (also included in the set) can be used.
BEARING
Crankshaft bearing on the alternator side designed as a large roller bearing (NU205 25x52x15mm)
SHAFT SEALRING
The housings are manufactured to accommodate a metal shaft seal (clutch side). Please always use the version for the 200cc versions with brown sealing lip.
LUBRICATION
Double lubrication hole for the thrust bearing
FITTING
Two additional fitting bushes = crankshafts with extra-long stroke can dispense with the centering edge of the Lima half. Dimensions of fitting bushes AØ=9.95 mm, IØ=8.40 mm, h=13.80 mm
RUBBER
The holes for the large silent rubbers are Ø=44 mm (original Piaggio Ø=43 mm). The silent rubbers supplied are stiffer and provide better guidance of the engine in the frame. Piaggio silent rubbers also fit. Solutions with metal bushings or without preload do not usually fit if they were manufactured for Piaggio engine housings (Jockey, PLC).
SPECIAL FEATURES ROTARY VALVE VERSION
The rotary valve inlet is significantly wider than on a PX200, so larger carburetors can also be used here. However, it is possible to continue using the standard carburetor type (SI). Pinasco itself offers a version of an SI carburetor with a Ø28mm cross-section based on the standard carburetor type. A major advantage is the quiet intake noise of the rotary slide version. Separate lubrication is not possible as with the Lusso models (there is no preparation for the oil pump drive). An existing carburetor bowl from a model with oil pump can still be used, but must be slightly modified (remove centering sleeve for oil pump).
SPECIAL FEATURES MEMBRANE VERSION
The version with diaphragm inlet offers a very large inlet cross-section. This makes it perfect for anyone who wants to get the maximum performance out of the set with a large carburetor and corresponding exhaust.
Central, full-surface reed intake
Incl. diaphragm intake manifold, incl. diaphragm in RD350 format (58x48mm hole pattern)
Intake rubber 360° rotatable, connection width carburetor = Ø34mm
Rubber suitable for Keihin PWK28, Mikuni TMX27/30, Dell'Orto PHBH28/30, VHS24- 30
No axle for oil pump drive cast in
No hole for oil pump drive
ASSEMBLY NOTE
The NU205 crankshaft bearing on the alternator side does not sit flush in the engine housing.
It protrudes approx. 1 mm in the direction of the crankshaft.

NECESSARY FOR COMPLETION
The engine internals of all 125-200cc models from 1982 onwards can be used. The components from 1984 onwards are preferable due to the improved and more stable gearbox. The engine of the COSA models is also well suited as a donor engine. Their engine block is different on the outside, but uses the same internals as the PX models from 1992 onwards (note that the primary reduction ratio is shorter: 21/68 instead of 23/65).
The housings are NOT intended for use with an electric starter. A suitable cylinder cover is available from our supplier BSK (3333801).
Please insert all stud bolts with high-strength screw adhesive. The cylinder stud bolts are not oversized on one side as is usual with Piaggio. For this reason, glue in the Pinasco cylinder stud bolts supplied. We recommend recutting all threads and cleaning them with compressed air.
IGNITION: Pinasco Flytech type T5 (due to the large overcurrent channels, no PX components are suitable)
CYLINDER HOOD: Type T5 (must be modified)
FAN COVER: Type T5
TRANSMISSION: Type PX Lusso/T5/Cosa/LML. The standard gearbox of the PX125-200 models from 1984 onwards can be used.
CLUTCH PULLEY: Type Cosa2 (recommendation: BGM PRO clutch pinion)
CLUTCH COVER: Type PX200
PRIMARY DRIVE: Type PX (recommendation: BGM PRO primary transmission straight-toothed)
WASHER FOR CLUTCH: BGM6031P
