PX Lusso/Arcobaleno Iris/EFL Star/Stella T5 / Cosa Reinforced quality Wear part

Why replace?

Gears jumping out / short loss of traction → typical wear symptom
Ensures precise frictional connection between gearwheel and shaft
Protects gears & shift detent - timely replacement prevents consequential damage
Reinforced for more powerful setups and sporty riding style

Service & service life

Guide value for replacement: 12,000-25,000 km; check earlier for tuning
Also check: Shift detent, shift rod, spacing, gears (edges/gears)
Precise shift cable adjustment reduces wear and false contacts

Compatible vehicle models (Lusso/EFL gearbox from ~1984)

PX125E / PX150E / PX200E Arcobaleno (from approx. 1984)
PX 125/150/200 Lusso, MY, Disc, 2011
T5 125
Cosa 125/150/200 (2-stroke)

Note: Not for PX old (up to ~1983) - a different gear cross is required there.

Iris 125/150/200 (EFL gearbox)
TX/TX200 and other PX derivatives with EFL layout

Test criterion: Lusso/EFL gearbox (e.g. shift bolt SW17).

LML Star / Star Deluxe 125/150/200 (2-stroke)
Genuine Stella (2-stroke)

4-stroke derivatives have different innards - please check before ordering.

PX old (up to ~1983) - other cross required

Installation instructions

Check gears for edges/gears, distance correctly
Adjust the shift detent (play), shift rod (straight travel) and shift cables precisely
Set the clutch cable play correctly - avoids load peaks when shifting
Replace transmission oil after 100-200 km run-in

Note on wear

Symptoms: Gear jumps under load / "jerks" → Check gearshift cross
Continuing to drive with a heavily worn cross will damage the gears & shift detent
For tuning: Shorten the inspection interval

Tip: Keep the oil clean

BGM PRO magnetic drain plug (BGM9030): bundles microparticles/chips and keeps the transmission oil clean - ideal after gearshift clutch service.
