Conversion from contact ignition

The VAPE completely replaces contact ignition. Powerful permanent magnets ensure a reliable ignition spark and bright light even when idling. Contact and capacitor maintenance are no longer required, and starting behavior and suitability for everyday use are significantly improved.

Ignition timing

With CDI for static ignition timing as standard - suitable for many 2-stroke street setups. Markings on the pole wheel and base plate enable adjustment without a strobe. A dynamic CDI can be used as an option.

Installation and instructions

Simple installation at original points. Please mount stress-free, carefully establish ground points, retighten screws after 50-100 km. The original pole wheel puller is compatible. An adapted wiring harness is highly recommended for older vehicles.

Pole wheel and fan wheel

A groove system prevents incorrect installation. The flywheel mass is defined by the fan wheel. The cast aluminium fan wheel in silver has optimized blade geometry for high cooling performance and a classic silver look.

It has a cast aluminum fan wheel in silver (not black) for a classic look.
When converting from contact to VAPE (centrally regulated), an adapted wiring harness is highly recommended. Old, decentralized self-regulating designs are not compatible and often have increased contact resistances.
Set the ignition pulse to 1 on the SIP speedometer. Either use KOSO signal filters or connect the brown tacho cable to the white cable of the SIP/VAPE CDI.

Proper ground connections are absolutely essential for long-term trouble-free operation.
