12 V to 110 W Bright light even when idling Contactless & maintenance-free Static ignition timing AC ex works, DC possible Pole wheel + fan ~1,740 g Cast aluminum in original look Made in Europe (VAPE)
The Road Classic modernizes your Largeframe with the reliability of VAPE electronics, but remains visually as close to stock as possible: the fan ring and ignition base plate are made of cast aluminium and look just like they did ex works. Contactless, bright light even at idle and superior starting - even with engines with increased power.
The Road Classic completely replaces the contact ignition. Powerful permanent magnets deliver high ignition current and up to 110 W light output - no contact or capacitor service required.
AC ex works; conversion to DC is possible with a suitable regulator/rectifier (ground-free stator). With DC, the battery supplies all consumers - power even without the engine running (ideal for powerful headlights/USB/LED).
supplied with static ZZP - practical for most 2-stroke road concepts. A dynamic CDI is available as an option.
Simple installation at original points. Adjustment marks facilitate positioning; checking with a flashlight recommended. Ground points bare/tight; retighten screws after 50-100 km.
Older large frames often use decentralized self-regulating alternators (coils directly connected to consumers). The Road Classic (like VAPE in general) works centrally via a main power cable to the regulator - a suitable wiring harness is required for this. At the same time, new cables avoid corrosion transition resistances. Suitable conversion wiring harnesses are available.
