Clutch conversion kit for the conventional central spring clutches of the Vespa Smallframe engines, as originally used in e.g. Vespa V50, 50N, Special, PV125/ET3 and the PK S and PK XL models.
This set replaces the central clutch spring with 12 individual springs, similar to what Piaggio used in the factory on the Vespa PK XL2 models.
The advantage of the multiple, decentralized springs is the even load distribution.
This means that the spring plate is always exactly straight, so the clutch has a precisely defined cut-off point.
In addition, the clutch lever can be pulled much more easily, with increased transmission force.
For engines up to approx. 12 HP Stoffi recommends to equip the clutch with the enclosed soft 12 springs. For use in stronger engines please use the additionally available harder springs. Of course, hard and soft springs can also be combined (always use them alternately).
Stoffi has equipped his racing scooter from the Trofeo Parmakit (with 18HP at the rear wheel) with these springs and raced it extensively.
NOTE:
Please do not use with stored pressure plate (overall height too large). As lubricant we recommend the BGM Pro Street gear oil (BGM2025, corresponds to specification API GL-3).
