The tool from Buzzetti solves this problem by supporting itself on the piston and pulling out the pin via a suitable cone insert with internal thread. The whole process is similar to simply unscrewing a screw, so it is very simple and yet very efficient. Damage to the crank drive can be avoided from the outset and removal is greatly simplified.
