With this modified secondary transmission ratio, several advantages can be realised simultaneously. On the one hand the maximum final speed increases with increased engine power, on the other hand the speed level is lowered, which results in a better, cooler and consumption-friendly engine running. The Vespa runs faster and that not in a speed range that bursts the eardrum!
For full exhaust from a standstill the variomatic (lighter weights) and clutch may have to be readjusted.
