Suspension spring OEM (as original) for Vespa Largeframe
WHY A NEW SPRING?
Chassis springs are wearing parts. Especially the old spring types of the years of construction from 1950 to approx. 1980 of the Vespa Wideframe and Largeframe models are to be mentioned here particularly. The idiosyncratic swingarm design of these vehicles causes the front to dip sharply when the front brake is applied. This often loads the spring to 'block', meaning full compression.
This progressively shortens the life of the spring, making it softer and softer.

WHY AN ORIGINAL SPRING?
Due to the worn original spring, one is quickly tempted to want to use a sports spring directly. Often, however, a new spring with original characteristics is sufficient. This is again much tighter and improves the driving behavior noticeably. It also harmonizes excellently with the standard shock absorbers. Sports springs, on the other hand, should always be used with appropriately reinforced dampers. Otherwise, the normal standard shock absorber will not be able to counteract the reinforced spring with sufficient damping force.
WHAT LENGTH?
The springs for the most common Vespa models before 1980 are available in 155mm and 165mm length.
The 155mm version is for the models with 8 inch tires, the one with 165mm is for vehicles with 10 inch tires. The reason is the longer fork of the 10 inch models.
