Classic 16/16 mm SHB carburetor as a sensible solution for close-to-production engines and as a popular upgrade from the 16/10 carburetor.
The Dellorto SHB 16/16 from MALOSSI is a classic smallframe carburetor for Vespa V50 Special models. It is particularly interesting wherever a smaller 16/10 carburetor was installed ex works. In these cases, the 16/16 is a very sensible upgrade, because it allows the engine to fill up much better and is a clean fit for sportier or open 50cc setups without becoming unnecessarily large.
A 16/10 carburetor was often used ex works, especially on the German V50 Special models with 40 km/h approval. These vehicles also have a thinner exhaust manifold as standard. If you want to throttle down sensibly or bring the engine technically clean to the usual smallframe standard, you very often end up with the 16/16 SHB.
For the German V50 Special models with standard 16/10 carburetor, the matching 16/16 intake manifold is also required for fitting the 16/16. The carburetor alone is therefore not sufficient in this case.
The 16/16 is not an extreme tuning carburetor, but a very harmonious solution for engines that should run cleanly, respond well and be easy to tune. It fits very well with near-stock 50cc engines, open 50cc setups and mild smallframe concepts where a 16/10 is too small but a significantly larger carburetor is not yet necessary or sensible. It also harmonizes very well with 75cc cylinders if these are to be operated inconspicuously and for everyday use.

The MALOSSI Dellorto SHB 16/16 is a classic and very useful smallframe carburetor for V50 Special models. It is a proven upgrade, especially for German 40 km/h versions, when the standard 16/10 carburetor has become too small. With the matching intake manifold, the result is a clean, coherent and technically sensible solution for close-to-production, slightly sporty and also discreet 75cc smallframe setups.
