FUTURE-ORIENTED
Benelli’s Grantour variants offer an excellent option for fast and powerful street bikes. Modern engine designs often produce more than twice the torque of a stock PX200. The Grantour transmissions therefore use the same high-strength base material and heat treatment as Benelli’s hyper-sporty GPX transmission parts.
100% STABILITY
Combined with a clever gear design, Stefano Benelli ensures extreme durability for his transmissions. In doing so, he reduces the number of nearly all meshing teeth, thereby achieving two things:
The tooth base becomes wider and thus significantly more stable
By reducing the number of teeth on both the secondary shaft AND the main shaft, the gear ratio is kept virtually the same
GEAR RATIOS
Grantour gearboxes are available in two versions
Touring (12/55, 13/40, 16/35, 19/33)
Sport (12/55, 13/40, 16/37, 19/35)
TOURING
The gear ratios of the Touring version are nearly identical to those of a PX125. This makes it identical to the gear ratios of a PX200 with a short fourth gear. A combination that is both proven and popular for its range and gear ratios. Combined with a longer primary reduction ratio (e.g., 24/62), it is ideally suited for pairing with a high-power, high-torque engine design featuring a so-called box exhaust. Unlike the standard short fourth gear with 36 teeth (originally from the PX125/T5 models), Benelli’s third and fourth gear sprockets have a full three fewer teeth, making them ultra-stable. Perfect for the Quattrini 244 and similar models.
SPORT
The Sport version has significantly shorter gear ratios in third and fourth gears than the Touring variant. This makes it ideal for high-performance engines with a resonance exhaust. With the shorter gear ratios, the primary reduction ratio can be set to a longer ratio for good top speed, yet the engine still maintains full power delivery at all times.
