The Malossi cylinder kit is a water-cooled aluminum racing cylinder suitable for Piaggio, Gilera, and Italjet 125 to 180cc 2-stroke LC engines.
This version features a 65.00 mm bore, 52.0 mm stroke, 172.5 cc displacement, and 6 transfer ports.
The kit is designed as a performance-oriented replacement and tuning cylinder assembly, including a cylinder head, piston, piston pins, piston rings, and sealing and mounting parts.
Function and Installation Instructions
The cylinder kit replaces the original cylinder assembly and is designed for use in water-cooled Piaggio Maxi 2-stroke engines.
The aluminum construction with a coated running surface promotes efficient heat dissipation and ensures a durable cylinder-piston pairing.
Before installation, sealing surfaces must be carefully cleaned, and the piston must be installed with the appropriate piston rings without applying excessive force.
For liquid-cooled engines, the cooling system must be filled and bled after installation.
Carburetor tuning, needle bearings, crankshaft assembly, water pump, and cooling system should be matched to the cylinder’s performance level.
