The SITO PLUS is the discreet alternative to the original Vespa exhaust system and at the same time the entry into the road racing exhaust system segment. Visually close to the series, but with a much sportier interior design, it delivers noticeably more power, especially in the mid and upper rev range - with everyday driveability and a classic look.

Concept and character

The design of the SITO PLUS is based on the more complex construction of the original Vespa T5 system. Flow routing and volume are designed to allow more throughput in the mid and upper rev range without changing the characteristic largeframe silhouette. The exhaust remains recognizable as a "classic" system, but has been given a performance boost.

Thanks to the wide usable rev range, the SITO PLUS is suitable for a wide variety of engines - from the DR 135 and solid touring cylinders to the revised Malossi 210. Instead of a narrow power peak, it delivers a usable range that is particularly impressive on country roads and in everyday use.

Riding behavior and power delivery

Noticeably more revving pleasure compared to the standard system, especially from medium revs.
Significantly improved gear connection with original cylinders - overtaking maneuvers and inclines can be ridden more relaxed.
In conjunction with modified cylinders such as the Malossi 210 or standard touring setups, the SITO PLUS offers a very harmonious balance between increased performance and everyday characteristics.
Acoustically more throaty than the standard system, without drifting off in the direction of extreme racing exhaust soundscapes.

Installation and peripherals

The SITO PLUS is mounted on the engine like an original exhaust. The steel construction is painted black and designed for a good fit on the Largeframe. The advantages of the near-series design are retained:

Ground clearance is at standard level - important in everyday use and when fully loaded.
Wide tire and spare wheel suitability remain, the exhaust does not interfere with the rear wheel or spare wheel suspension.
The main stand can still be used without the system getting in the way.

For the Vespa Rally 180 (VSD1T), an adapted exhaust manifold (item number 7673526) is required.

As with any change in performance, the jetting and ignition settings should be adapted to the new setup. A properly tuned mixture preparation is a prerequisite for durability and power delivery.

Note on approval

The SITO PLUS has a BSAU marking for the British market. For use in German or European road traffic, registration or approval should be clarified with the testing organization or responsible body. If in doubt, it is advisable to talk to the inspector before using the system permanently in everyday operation.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the increase in performance compared to the standard system?
Specific values depend heavily on the respective cylinder, the timing and the peripherals. Typically, there is better torque in the mid-range and a noticeably freer revving of the engine, without the system only working in the upper rev range.
Can I ride the SITO PLUS with a purely standard engine?
Yes, especially with original engines, the exhaust often provides a significantly better gear connection and more reserves on inclines. The prerequisite is an adapted jetting and a harmonious ignition setting.
Is the exhaust very loud?
The sound is throatier and more present than with a fresh standard system, but remains within the range of a classic road exhaust. It is not an extremely loud racing system for sprinting or drag racing.
Do I necessarily need different nozzles?
In most cases, yes. The better flow rate changes the mixture requirement of the engine. It is advisable to start with a slightly larger main jet and use the spark plug pattern and driving behavior to find the right jetting.
Can I ride the SITO PLUS with wide tires and a spare wheel?
Yes, the geometry has been selected so that both wide tires and the spare wheel can generally continue to be used without the exhaust bumping. The ground clearance remains suitable for everyday use.
Is the BSAU marking a general approval?
No, the BSAU marking refers to the British regulation. For use on German roads, registration or individual consultation with the testing organization is advisable. Without registration, operation on public roads can be problematic.
