Aluminum Cylinder base and cylinder head for VMC Ranger 213/225 Setup fine tuning
This aluminum spacer set for the cylinder base and cylinder head helps you to set up the VMC Ranger 213/225 to suit your engine. You can use it to compensate for the cylinder height and adjust the timing and squish edge specifically - for example with a long stroke, modified connecting rod dimensions or if you want to fine-tune your intake and exhaust concept.
The cylinder is supported on the engine housing via the base spacer. In practice, this means that you can better adapt the Ranger to your carburettor and exhaust setup instead of having to live with compromise timing.
Depending on the peripherals, the Ranger can benefit from a moderate to significant lift - provided the overall package is right. This primarily includes the carburettor size and intake system as well as a powerful exhaust system.
If the intake and exhaust do not deliver the additional throughput, higher timing will generally not bring any advantage.
Thanks to the efficient scavenging system, the Ranger generally only loses a small amount of power in the pre-resonance range - i.e. in the rev range before the exhaust provides noticeable support - even with a higher lift. This is particularly interesting for setups suitable for touring, which should not crash at the bottom and in the middle.
If the cylinder is lifted at the base, the corresponding dimension must be compensated for at the head, otherwise the compression and thus the usable power will drop significantly.
